Pricing
The nature of website design is such that a standard base price can be hard to determine. First, there is the initial cost associated with buying and hosting a web site. Domain names vary widely, and the more desirable domains come with an appropriately higher price tag. Depending on your hosting option, you may end up paying several hundred dollars for a multi-year plan, or pay a smaller monthly fee. After these initial fees, the issue of design still remains.Companies who opt for a template may pay only 50 (or less) for access to the same layouts that everybody else has. The option to buy a “unique” template and set your company apart will cost more (usually over 2000). The actual cost may be more or less than what it would take to hire a web design firm. When it comes to web design firms, you are paying for experience, timeliness, specialized scripting or multimedia requests, and in some cases future site maintenance. For this reason, most firms don’t include any hard numbers in their pricing information, instead preferring clients to send proposals and then offering quotes afterwards. There is no shortage of web design firms, and given the nature of the industry it is not necessary to hire a local firm. Communication can be done via telephone, fax, and e-mail. Research several options for your web design needs, and get quotes from at least a few of them. The more information you have, the better you will feel when you finally make a decision as to whom to trust with your company (or your own) online presence.
